About the Climate Change Committee:

The Climate Change Committee was created as an independent expert body to advise Parliament and the Government on climate change policy. The CCC has established itself as a high-profile, high-impact expert body in the analysis of climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The CCC receives daily media coverage across national, devolved, regional, local and international print, online and broadcast media outlets and has growing engagement with key audiences on social and digital channels including the CCC website and Twitter.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced organisation with a high public profile. The Executive Assistant will work closely with our Chief Executive and Head of Private Office to provide high-quality administrative support to our Chief Executive and Chief Economist.

Key objectives and responsibilities:

1) Provide effective and proactive diary support to the Chief Executive and Chief Economist

  • Manage their diaries to accommodate internal and external meeting requests
  • Review speaking requests with the Chief Executive and Head of Private Office and liaise with the event organisers on logistics for requests that are accepted
  • Reach out to internal and external stakeholders to set up meetings when suggested by the Chief Executive
  • Liaise regularly with Chief Executive and Chief Economist to ensure his diary is in line with work priorities

2) Provide support to the delivery of major CCC events

  • Liaising with venues, drafting and issuing invitations, monitoring attendee responses

3) Provide support to the management of correspondence received by the CCC

  • Work with the Head of Private Office to prepare and send responses to correspondence

4) Provide support for the Committee and team

  • Liaise with Committee members and members of the secretariat on speaking requests to check availability and help support on logistics
  • Liaise with Committee members on changes to schedule of Committee meetings

Essential criteria

This role will require experience of:

  • diary management
  • managing a shared inbox
  • managing correspondence
