Key tasks/principal accountabilities:
On behalf of the Revitalising Redesdale Landscape Partnership, Natural England would like to appoint a Programme Officer to work as part of the Revitalising Redesdale team to support the delivery of a five year National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) funded programme of 12 inter-related projects. The Revitalising Redesdale Landscape Partnership Scheme began implementation in January 2018 and will end in December 2022. The four person team are delivering a £2.8 million programme to celebrate Redesdale’s rich cultural heritage and to protect and enhance the area’s landscape, archaeology and wildlife.
The Programme Officer will have particular responsibility for supporting administration, managing and maintaining the financial records of the programme and managing the small grants Community Heritage Fund. They will work with partners and Revitalising Redesdale team to help deliver rights of way improvements, and record project activity progress within Redesdale. The Officer will be required to undertake the following tasks:
Project administration and financial management
Maintain effective financial records on all Programme activity, including the collation and verification of all claims to NLHF. This will include liaising closely with partners and working across different financial systems to maintain an appropriate audit trail.
Provide reports to the Programme Steering Group on all financial matters; this includes the production of financial overviews and providing advice on budget changes and adjustment requirements.
Organise and support Revitalising Redesdale related meetings and other events involving organising programmes, booking venues, sending out papers, taking and producing agendas and minutes.
Assist in the communication with all partners involved in the delivery of Revitalising Redesdale Landscape Partnership Scheme, as well as dealing with enquiries from members of the public.
Input data into programme databases as required and build and maintain the project file archives together with any audit records required.
Assist with the collation of monitoring and evaluation data.
Provide support for the promotion and marketing of activities including social media, updating the website, production and distribution of marketing literature and taking bookings from the general public for events.
Supporting the Community Heritage Fund
Help promote the Revitalising Redesdale Community Heritage Fund
Collate applications to the Community Heritage Fund and support the quarterly decision panel
Liaise with applicants to arrange funds and payments and help monitor the implementation of projects supported by the Community Heritage Fund.
Maintain all records, including financial records associated with the delivery of projects through the Community Heritage Fund.
Support improvements to the Redesdale Rights of way Network
Undertake inspection and audits of footpaths and bridleway to identify condition
Map routes and record for View Ranger application
Working closely with Northumberland County Council agree a prioritised list of improvements to be undertaken on a particular route
Work with Northumberland County Council to secure contractors to undertake specific improvements
Manage and liaise with contractors as required
